Our Business
EM Engineering Group is a consulting engineering firm specializing in MEP design. Our extensive experience includes complex HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems for projects in the commercial and industrial sector of the construction industry. At EM, our engineers have more than 40 years experience and professional licensure in 48 states. Our staff of engineers, drafters and designers are dedicated to creating custom designs and solutions for our clients' needs.

Our mission is excellence through experience, knowledge and innovation and we pride ourselves on utilizing our field experience in design practices and application throughout the engineering process. Dave Mullen, P.E.

Co-founder and Owner

Dave Mullen has 40 years' experience in the mechanical and electrical engineering sector. After graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1979, Mr. Mullen obtained his Professional Engineer certificate in 1987. Upon completing an MBA from Xavier University in 1991, Dave founded Innovative Design Engineering Associates (IDEA) before teaming up with Mr. Eschenbrenner in 2006 to create EM Engineering Group, Ltd. He is responsible for overseeing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical and electrical engineering projects. His integrity and dedication to engineering has earned him professional licensure in 48 states.

John Eschenbrenner, P.E.

Co-founder and Owner

John Eschenbrenner's career in electrical engineering spans nearly 20 years. After high school, John worked briefly as an electrician before beginning his studies at The Ohio State University. During his collegiate years, John met Dave and began working as an electrical designer before obtaining a B.S. in Electricaland COmputer Engineering in 2003. After he and Dave co-founded EM Engineering Group in 2006, John went on to obtain a Master's in Business Management and Administration from Franklin University as well as earn his Professional Engineer certification in 2008. Today, John directs the electrical department at EM Engineering, designs and manages projects, and reviews work for Quality Assurance. He is responsible for growing new customer relationships and strengthening existing ones through excellent customer service and innovation.
